On September 11, 2013, in the morning, local businesswoman Debbie Fauble was upset to see only two flags flying in downtown Junction City. Determined to not let the events of September 11, 2001, slip from our minds, she began to phone area agencies and businesses to see what could be done.
Thanks to Debbie’s efforts, at 3pm flags and people lined Ivy Street to watch our own first responders, Junction City police and firefighters, parade fire engines escorted by police cars up and down Ivy.
It was not only the city’s residents who appreciated the remembrance. “A heartfelt thank you to the community for your support on September 11,” came from everyone at Junction City Fire.
